Curling Schedule

There are lots of opportunities to get the most our of your membership this season at Liverpool Curling Club!

Monday,Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am-12pm the teams are made up from whoever decides to curl that day. These are great days to come out for a leisurely, non-competitive curl with a mix of ability and skills. A great opportunity to fine tune your game for evening curling.

Tuesday evenings are for Doubles Curling AND Stick Curling, 7-9pm.
Doubles is the fastest growing game in curling! The only gold that Canada won in the 2016 Olympics was Mixed Doubles. If you watched any of the games, you will have noticed a great balance of shot making, sweeping and calling shots. A game of doubles only takes about 1-1/4 hours to play. A very short time commitment to match your busy schedule. If you want a mix of honing your skills and learning the strategy of the game then Tuesday nights is your night to shine!

Stick Curling is providing more and more people the chance to enjoy curling without the need to slide out of the hack although you still get your chance to sweep that draw to the 4 foot or give your vocal chords a work out with some "Hurry Hard!!" Fast becoming one of the more popular nights at curling rinks across Canada, a great addition this year to our schedule if you are not as bendable as you once were.

Thursday evening is the return of our league night, 7-9pm. This is the night when your team of fine tuned wannabees get to square off against another team of has-beens. You are welcome to put a team together or take your chances and be placed on a team of teatotallers or Hell Bay Brewery taste testers. We will keep a tally of wins and losses and will end the season with a championship round for the coveted (sort of) LCC Thursday Night Trophy.

The Juniors will be busy all season with lots of ice time and friendly competitions during the season. The Ice Cubes (5-6 yrs old) will take to the ice Saturday mornings 9-10 am, Light Rocks (7-11 yrs old) will be sliding and sweeping on Monday night 6-7 pm and Saturday mornings 10-11 am and the elderly of our Juniors (12-18 yrs old) will be rock(ing) the house Tuesday & Thursday 3-5 pm and Saturday 11-1 pm.

Sunday afternoons will be our FUNspiel day with less focus on the rules of curling. We encourage members to bring a spouse, family member, neighbour or friend that hasn't tried curling in the past to give the game a try. Only $10 for non-members to come out for a couple of hours to enjoy a little physical exercise and laughs. Sundays are also the day that we invite our awesome sponsors to gather some co-workers and come out for some play. It is our way to say thank you for your continued support!
